Week 22: Away for the summer.

On Tuesday night, Ray came to visit. He stayed over at Adam's place, and we played Settlers of Catan and Gauntlet Legends and ate take-out Indian food (yum!).

On Wednesday, I flew to San Bruno. I'm staying there with Aunt Trudy, Uncle Henry, and their 3 kids this summer -- I have an internship with Technorati. This is the view from the street where their family lives.

They very kindly cleaned out their basement to make a place for me to live.

In fact, they cleaned out exactly the right amount of space -- my stuff fits perfectly in "my" dresser and set of plastic drawers.

Presumably there will be a lot of baby-cousin pictures here over the summer. Some of them may even feature pleasant expressions. :)

Week 21: Celebrations galore.

Most recently (yesterday!), Adam and I went to other-Adam and Elizabeth-my-officemate's wedding. It was very nice, even though the reception was about an hour's drive away from the church.

The reception was by the bay, so there were ducks and docks.

On Wednesday evening, Adam went to the Orioles game with people from the department to celebrate Kim's birthday while I went to dinner with the Hopkins Catholic Community choir and Fr. Ryan, and on Thursday, I went to the Women of Whiting end-of-the-year picnic.

Earlier on Thursday, Adam and I went to the Cafe de Paris to celebrate my master's degree and fellowship and summer job and his getting through his first year of grad school with excellent grades.

Adam also got himself a present to celebrate his first year of grad school: a new guitar. With his electric piano from Christmas, and his drum set from last year, he could be a one-man band...

But what's a one-man band without a harmonica?

Week 20: Mother's Day! (And no new pictures -- it's finals week.)

Happy Mother's Day, Mom! I tried to send you a wine.com gift certificate, but Dad said it was having trouble arriving. I think they send a paper copy too, but if you don't get it soon, be sure to let me know. I'm sorry I can't send you better weather for a festive Mother's Day boat ride...

Happy Mother's Day, Paula! I don't think I have any new pictures of Adam, but here's a cartoon of him I made using an online "doll maker" a while back. He's at a rock concert right now, so the guitar seems appropriate. :)

School's out for the summer, so I went to church at the cathedral today. The building is beautiful, and the acoustics are every bit as terrible as they look like they ought to be.

Week 19: Extra Super Boring.

My camera has NOT LEFT THE HOUSE this week.

I did do stuff: riding lesson Monday, riding lesson Tuesday, suit-shopping with Adam Wednesday, Newman Night Thursday, Poker Night Friday, shopping trip and Scrabble party Saturday, church and more yarn shopping today. But not a single bit of it has been recorded for posterity.

Except this:

Luckily Ben brought HIS camera for our Intramural Champions photoshoot. Maybe next year we'll do a swimsuit calendar...
