Week 44: Bike ride

Yesterday Adam and I went for a bike ride!

I accidentally deleted all the pictures on my camera. :(
So Adam helped me take some more for the photo blog. :)

Some more fall colors, looming ominously over my apartment complex.

Week 43: Knitting, Fall Colors, and Ren Fest

This is what I did with (the rest of) my fall break: I knit a dishcloth! (Over the rest of the week, I made its opposite, with green bricks and blue mortar.)

It's been getting chilly on and off here, so I've been using my blankets. My Christmas blanket from Mom is very cozy, and HUGE. It almost covers my queen-size bed!

This is the garage where I park. It's surrounded on two sides by a park that's gorgeous in the fall.

This is what I see when I'm leaving the garage.

This is a building on my commute from school to Adam's house.

This Saturday, Adam and I went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival to get our annual dose of Food on a Stick.

It's set up in a forest that's even prettier than my garage!

Week 42: The Horses of King George

This Saturday, Adam and I went down to visit Carey and his family at their house in Virginia. We went for a walk in their gorgeous woods -- I tried to go for a short ride on the trail out of their backyard, but it turns out there's a branch in there that's at about hip height when you're on horseback...

This is a Very Good Horse.

Adam rode too, but I forgot to take pictures while he was riding!

Weeks 40-41: Hi Mom! Hi Dad!

So LAST Sunday there was no photoblogging because my parents were in town! Yay!

See, they were on campus with me:

We did all kinds of fun things in DC and in Baltimore. One of the highlights was dinner at Fogo de Chão, where we went before our trip to the Smithsonian's Museum of the American Indian. The food was amazing!

The big news from this week is that my classmate Kevin (below, left) passed his candidacy exam, and my friend Kendall (whose research, instead of himself, is pictures, because the photo on his web page doesn't look like him any more) successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. Woohoo!
